Shaving Tips: How go get Smooth Legs

Shaving Tips with Harry's RazorsRecently, I had the opportunity to work with Harry’s shaving company. Have you heard of them? I actually hadn’t heard of Harry’s, but my husband had. They’re mostly branded as a men’s shaving company, but I’ve learned their products are great for women as well. Before I dive into shaving tips for smooth legs, let me tell you about the shaving rock I had been living under for the past several years.

Somewhere in college, or maybe even high school, I made the decision to only buy disposable razors. I’d buy packs of Bic disposable razors on sale at the grocery store and swap for a new razor at the start of each month. It was cheap and it got the job done. I also ditched shaving cream around that time.

I’ve said it before, and it really is true: I’m pretty simple when it comes to my beauty routine. I’ve been a minimalist for a while.

And the disposable razors seemed fine to me, so I kept buying more of the same for years.

Then came Harry’s.

My good friends at Harry’s sent a shave kit for me and one for my husband. I didn’t really see anything wrong with my disposable razor routine until I started using a quality razor. I forgot what shaving with a razor with more than 3 blades felt like. Oh, and the head rotates. Imagine! 🙂

I even tried the shaving cream. My legs were like butter. I admit that I really only used the shaving cream once. I’m not a big shaving cream person, but Mathew uses it and really likes it.

His face feels so smooth, and I love the scent of the Harry’s shaving cream on his face after he shaves.

So, I’ve been out of the dark ages of shaving for a few weeks, and today I’m sharing some tips for super smooth legs.

Tips For Smooth Legs

Exfoliate. I don’t do this every shave, but our skin deserves a good scrub every once in a while. This is a great exfoliating scrub. This one is great too.

Try coconut oil instead of shaving cream. Like I said, I’m not shaving cream’s number one fan, but coconut oil is my long lost love. Just be cautious that you don’t slip in the shower after using it.

Find a quality razor. Sometimes men’s razors offer a closer shave. Mathew and I both have the Truman Set from Harry’s. The razor has 5 blades and the shave set comes with two extra razors and shave cream. The rubber handle comes in multiple color options, which is nice so I can always tell which razor is mine.

Moisturize. Last but not least- give those legs some lotion! After a good shave, I pat my legs dry with my towel and lather on my favorite lotion.

Thank you to Harry’s  for the awesome razors and for partnering with me on this post! As always, I share my own honest opinion.

What shaving secrets have you discovered for smooth legs? Have you switched to a quality razor, or are you like me and still using cheap disposables?
