Staying Warm in my New Winter Parka

Abercrombie Puffer Parka

I am so excited about my new winter parka. I was hoping to get a new coat this year and was planning on waiting for an end of season sale. But, the other week I noticed a tear in the fabric of the hood on my coat and thought maybe I could keep an eye out to purchase a new coat sooner than expected.

I loved my former puffer coat. It was a gray Calvin Klein puffer parka and I bought it about three winters ago from Macy’s for under $100. I love the longer parka style because Michigan winters are usually cold and snowy. The longer length helps protect against extra cold and windy weather.

But, it was time to say goodbye after three long winters. I was lucky enough to find a new coat on sale, and so far I’m really happy with my purchase.

A few things I love about this parka: down-filled puffer, fleece-lined pockets, cinched cuff sleeves for added warmth, hood with detachable faux fur, and slimming detail at the waist. Basically all you could want in a puffer parka. I will say the puff is a little fuller than my last parka, so there’s a little added bulk, but it’s not so much that I feel like the Michelin man. I love the navy color, but if navy isn’t your thing it comes in three other colors, and it’s affordable!

A quality puffer parka is either way too bulky or it costs $300-400. Abercrombie has been having sales every week lately. Right now this one is under $100!

I recently found these high waist distressed denim jeans from Abercrombie and thought I’d check out their website for coats when they were having a sale a few weeks ago. Last year I heard a few bloggers talk about how Abercrombie was making a comeback. I almost ordered from the website on more than one occasion, but didn’t pull the trigger until a few weeks ago after hearing at least two other bloggers talk about their recent finds.

I know many people shopped at Abercrombie in middle school and high school, but I never really did. I was a Gap girl through and through. I have one pair of cotton sleep shorts that are Abercrombie and they’re at least 15 years old (not an exaggeration) but otherwise I don’t think I ever owned anything from the retailer.

I’ve placed two orders this month, and while I always over order and make returns when I buy online, I’ve found a few pieces I’m excited to share with you and this coat is one of them.
