Black Midi Dress + Fall Transition

black midi dress - maternity styleCan you believe it’s the last day of July? Summer is flying by! Soon it will be time for fall layers, which I absolutely love. Not that I’m rushing the end of summer. August is a wonderful month, and September usually has great weather too. 🙂

Today I’m sharing one of my favorite looks. Black and denim are so classic together, and I’ve gotten so much use out of this midi dress from Gap. It’s non-maternity and I also have it in a blue and white striped print last worn here.

The softspun fabric of this dress is amazingly soft and comfortable. Gap has an entire line of clothing in this soft fabric, and I recently ordered this tie-back maternity tee which you’ll probably see here later this week. I also love this tie-back tee which is non-maternity and has a tie at the bottom in the back. So cute!

I’ve styled this black midi dress in a look that can easily transition to fall. I bought these blush loafer-style mules from Nordstrom as part of the Anniversary sale. I wasn’t sure if I would keep them when I ordered them, but once they arrived I sort of fell in love with them.

I’ve had this denim jacket since college, and I wear it every spring and every fall. It’s a wardrobe classic and I’m sure it’s paid for itself a hundred times by now. It’s great for layering. I almost never button it, which works out perfectly for my growing belly.
