How to Wear Your Summer Dress this Fall

fall maternity styleAugust provides the perfect backdrop to style spring and summer pieces for fall. I’m especially enjoying the opportunity to refresh some of my looks for fall because I’ve had a slightly more limited wardrobe this summer.

You may remember me wearing this floral dress earlier in the season. It’s been a great piece all summer, and I look forward to wearing it well into September and even early October.

My two tips for wearing a summer dress into the fall season are to add a jacket and wear ankle boots.

If you don’t own a utility jacket, I suggest investing in one. I bought this one last spring from J.Crew Factory at an end of season sale for around $40. Since then, I’ve gotten so much use out of it. It’s a perfect layer for both spring and fall.

And, even though I can’t exactly zip it nicely over my baby bump, I still plan to wear it this fall. 😉

Pairing this floral midi dress with booties makes it feel even more worthy of cool, fall weather.

I picked up these booties during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. They run small, so I sized up an entire shoe size. These Toms are very similar and fit true to size.

It’s funny to look back at my original post with this dress where I admit in the post that the loose fit wasn’t showing much of a bump, but remembering that I felt like I definitely had a bump. That teensy belly has nothing on me now, and I still have three more months to go!

Are you thinking about fall yet? Do you have some pieces you’re currently wearing that you’ll be able to add layers to for fall? How do you transition your wardrobe this time of year?

Cheers,

Britney
