Outfit Details: denim bib overalls (also love the look of this pair, these ones, and these distressed overalls are super affordable) | striped tissue turtleneck (last worn here) | similar ankle boots | diaper bag (dupe for this one– I carried the mini version here) | earrings | lipstick in ‘spicy blush’
Happy Tuesday! We’ve been staying cozy so far this week after the drop in temperature. This past weekend was so gorgeous- sunshine and temps in the 40’s! It felt like we were living someplace other than West Michigan!
We took the opportunity to get outside and go for a couple walks and also shoot some photos. I can’t tell you how many times last winter I wanted to get out and shoot or we even did go and take photos, but they turned out looking so depressing because of the blue overtone from cloudy skies and cold weather. This winter has been a breath of fresh air after last year’s winter.
My style lately has been super casual. I don’t do well at all with sleep deprivation (I know most people don’t, but some handle it better than others), and some mornings I’m so tired that I make an executive decision to stay in leggings and a sweatshirt all day. When I do get dressed, I tend to stick to jeans and some sort of soft fabric top or tee that’s easy to lift for nursing.
When I was pregnant, one of my favorite maternity purchases was a pair of denim maternity overalls. I even styled them three times on the blog! See them here, here, and here. By my third trimester, I knew I would need to get pregnant right away so I could wear my denim overalls again. KIDDING!
I knew I wanted to find a pair of non-maternity denim overalls to wear. I had such luck with my H&M maternity pair (shop the maternity pair here) that I decided to check back and see what they had. I found this denim pair I’ve styled here and also this black twill pair which I can’t wait to style soon. The best part? Each pair is under $40!
The black pair is pretty fitted and they are a much more affordable option than these velvet Madewell overalls (which I would LOVE, but it’s not in the budget right now). Both are super flattering and have a high-waisted fit, which is great at holding in the postpartum mom tummy I’ve got going on.
Anyway, I think it’s safe to say I’m pretty overall-obsessed.
This pair fits true to size and the fabric is soft and flexible (not stiff and uncomfortable like some denim). I like how these overalls fit around the waist and the length is great too.

Have you tried overalls? It was one of those trends I thought only looked good on other people, but I really fell in love once I tried it. What’s a trend you thought you couldn’t get behind but eventually you tried it and loved it?
