When Benjamin was two weeks old we had some family photos taken and I thought I’d share them on the blog today along with a little update of how we’ve been doing. All the photo credit for these images goes to Mason Photography. I can’t believe how much our sweet boy has grown even since these photos were taken! Read More
Happy Monday! This post is getting up a little late today- which has been happening with my Monday posts lately. Since I’m off work on maternity leave, I’ve been trying to blog during the week so that my weekends are free to just relax with my little family. I’ve also tried to move other former weekend things, like cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping to the weekdays as well. I’m still working on getting the hang of a new schedule with little Benjamin during the week and scheduling my Monday blog posts needs to get bumped up a few days- ha! Read More
I posted my last pregnancy outfit earlier this week, and now it’s time to face the facts. I have a cute squishy baby and a squishy postpartum body I’m learning to love. I’ve been living in leggings.
One recent post-baby purchase I’ve made has been this tunic from LOFT. It’s so soft and cozy, and is the perfect length to wear with leggings. It’s been my go-to piece to pair with my leggings for when I want to feel a little more dressed up.
There have been a few tips I read before having Benjamin which have been helpful in my recovery. The best tips have been: sleep when possible, get out of the house early and often, set small goals, and get ready every day. Read More
I can’t believe our sweet Benjamin is already a month old! I wanted to write down his birth story not only to share, but also because I want to be able to remember the special details. I’ve always enjoyed reading other women’s birth experiences, but I especially enjoyed reading these stories while I was pregnant.
From all the stories I read, heard from friends, and been told by other moms (the good, the bad, and the ugly), I felt like I had a pretty good idea of all the great and awful things that can happen during labor, and I was pretty confident I couldn’t be sure of anything going into my own labor. Women’s bodies are amazing. It’s incredible how different each woman, each pregnancy, and each birth is.
This blog post is super long. I wanted to remember the day our baby was born, but also the events leading up to our c-section because really it’s all part of the same story. I tried to include some detail about the actual c-section. I didn’t have the opportunity to read many c-section experiences, and as a result there were a few things which surprised me because I didn’t fully know what to expect. Hopefully this story might help another mama prepare for a c-section. Read More
Finally, my last maternity style post! We took photos ahead of time in anticipation that I might go past my due date, but that of course didn’t happen! 🙂 Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite books during pregnancy. I read several especially during my first trimester, then picked up a few more closer to my due date.
