I used to have major closet envy every time I saw one of those HUGE walk-in closets on Pinterest. You know the ones, rows of shoes, racks of clothes, dripping with glittery accessories. One of my decorating goals this year is to incorporate plant life into our home. As far as house plants go, we have one succulent. That’s it. It’s a little silly, but I’ve never thought of myself as someone with a green thumb, so I sort of avoided house plants. Plus, when we were just starting off in our home I always chose a piece of art to hang on the wall over any kind of plant. Plants weren’t even on my radar.

Happy Hump Day. To get us through the middle of this week, I am sharing the details of my recent art endeavors to curate a gallery wall for our living room.
We purchased our home in 2012 right before we got married. In case you didn’t realize, weddings and home-buying are some pretty large expenses. And while we had help from our parents (for the wedding) and saved our money (hello, down payment), we didn’t really have the budget to do a lot of decorating once we moved in to our new home.
I could not have lived with too many bare walls, so I got a little creative and did a couple of DIY art projects for the walls, and filled other spaces in with some big-box-store designs on the cheap.
Since moving into our home, we’ve continued to make physical and cosmetic improvements, but the art has mostly remained the same. We hadn’t planned any large renovations for this year, so we decided it was time to take our art game to the next level. Read More
