Happy Monday! This post is getting up a little late today- which has been happening with my Monday posts lately. Since I’m off work on maternity leave, I’ve been trying to blog during the week so that my weekends are free to just relax with my little family. I’ve also tried to move other former weekend things, like cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping to the weekdays as well. I’m still working on getting the hang of a new schedule with little Benjamin during the week and scheduling my Monday blog posts needs to get bumped up a few days- ha!
This past weekend we really didn’t do a lot. Mathew didn’t work on Friday, so we went to breakfast that morning at a new restaurant in our neighborhood. We got up, fed the baby, got ready, and headed out for a late breakfast at Holland & Fitz Delicatessen. Mathew ordered a breakfast burrito and I ordered the sweet potato hash. It was nice to get out of the house as a family and try someplace new.
It’s been pretty cold in West Michigan lately and snowed a bunch over the weekend. We spent some of Friday afternoon cleaning up our basement, which flooded after our water heater broke a week before Benjamin was born. We’ve been slowly trying to get things back in order down there in preparation for paint on some of the walls and new carpet in a few weeks.
We mostly spent Saturday and Sunday hanging out at home watching Christmas movies and relaxing as a family. Mathew is in California this week for a work trip, so it was especially nice to have a low-key family weekend together. It’s not quite been hours since I dropped him off at the airport and I already miss him like crazy! My mom and sister-in-law are splitting the week to stay with us, which is so nice.
I’ve still been living in my Blanqi postpartum leggings (you can get 20% off here if you’re in the market for a pair of your own). When I cleaned out my closet back in January I got rid of a lot of my casual clothes. Consequently, I didn’t leave myself with many things I can wear around the house and easily nurse a baby in. Last week while I was doing some grocery shopping at Costco I picked up a few casual shirts and grabbed this red top. It’s so super soft and cozy. I tried to find it online, but couldn’t. If you have a Costco nearby, I highly recommend this- I think I only paid $10! The brand is Buffalo and is usually available at Macy’s.
